New release! Amore Mio Dolce is out now, it’s a stop-gap single while I wrap up a full-length album, and I actually mean that this time. Album has come along great, it’s the very same I started at the end of 2022 after my brief break from music, it’s just evolved and changed shape a lot. Hopefully a summer release for that, stay tuned. Back to the task at hand…
Amore Mio Dolce is a lavish and languid slice of Disco-tinged Library music, informed by Mediterranean Funk and Italian film scores alike. The titular song, “Amore Mio Dolce” is a vaguely romantic but largely sensual BGM joint. It’s accompanied by a familiar tune on the B-Side, a considerable reimagining of my 2018 song, “Amarsi Un Po”; now a romantic disco ballad. I had a good time with this release, as always; music is an important outlet for me. The month of May wasn’t very pleasant. As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, a pet passed away, and my life hasn’t felt real since. I saw Chris Isaak earlier this month and worked on this single, so it wasn’t all bad, just not altogether a fun time in my life. I could say that about the last year of my life pretty much, but I digress.
Another thing about this release: it was nice to revisit Amarsi, as I’ve always been conflicted about how it originally turned out, and I like how it came together here. The song had been on my mind for a while anyway, as I worked on a print that adapted the artwork from that release earlier this year, a print that is on the wall behind me as I write this. I hope to have some info on prints for you this summer too. I’ve been working almost exclusively on art and print-related matters as of late. It’s been a labor of love; the art side of things has always been something I’ve valued, and learning a bit more about the unfamiliar area of printing has been enjoyable too. Working on different designs, playing with layouts, testing print services, and figuring out paper specifics I like/dislike—it sounds mundane, but it’s been a real pleasure. I’ve also had a chance to do some framing, which I very briefly did in a professional capacity, so that’s something I’ve had a good time with too.
Anyway, stay tuned. I hope to have more for you soon. Prints, an album, something from my label (A2K Recordings). I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks.
~ FW.
