I returned to my Unlimited Oceans project for a release on my label, A2K Recordings, it’s called Concrete Jungle. It was cool to return to Drum N’ Bass after about 5 years away, making these two tracks was definitely a nice (literal) change of pace.
Concrete Jungle is an A-Side/B-Side outing, as I so often like to make. On the A-Side is the titular track, “Concrete Jungle”. That song is just a succinct mood piece pretty much. Interplanetary Criminal, a great producer of many kinds of dance music at this point, had a song called “Vapour” some years back; the two tracks don’t sound much alike, but that tune was definitely in the back of my mind as I made “Concrete Jungle”. It’s mostly bass, flute, and keys. A lot of Wavestation on it as I recall.
The B-Side is a bit more lush and drawn-out, it’s called “Endless Highway”. It was a fun one to make. Equal parts mellow, atmospheric, and pulse-pounding. Great for disassociating, if that’s your thing. Very video-gamey. Both tracks are, but this one maybe more so. Like the titular track, it’s flute and keys mostly, just more melodic. Second half of the track is pretty much identical to the first but I introduced a really subtle arpeggio in there from a PS1-inspired VST called GuyEngine (funny name). Enjoyed making the whole single, pretty fun.
More Unlimited Oceans stuff coming soon, actually. I recently revisited my Club and Dance inspired EP, True Faith, for a tape release through a label (Takeki Tower). I made new art for the release (new art that I love by the way, far better than the original in my opinion). I also produced an all-new bonus track for the tape release of the EP, finishing up a 160 BPM banger that was unfinished at the original time of release last year. I’ll keep you posted, thanks.

Concrete Jungle is out now, everywhere, distributed via A2K Recordings.
